Teen brothers from Alberta were detained by the U.S. Border Patrol in Montana after illegally crossing the border while engrossed in the game.
The engrossing, heads-down Pokemon Go app has caused plenty of safety issues, including the two Alberta teens who apparently wandered into a different country while playing the game.

In a mission to “catch ’em all,” two Alberta teens caused an international incident this week, after unknowingly walking into a different country illegally while playing Pokemon GO.
On Thursday evening, U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehended and detained the two teens, who were “walking southbound from Canada into the U.S. while playing Pokemon GO.”
The agents quickly determined that the two boys were unaware they had just entered the state of Montana after crossing the U.S. border from Alberta.
“Both juveniles were so captivated by their Pokemon GO games that they lost track of where they were,” said public affairs oficer Michael Rappold.
The pair were reunited with their mother at a nearby border patrol station in Coutts, Alta.
Pokemon Go is a game in which players go to various locations to find virtual characters that appear on their cellphones.
